Mesoamerica, March 21, 2018 – The more than a thousand women human rights defenders in El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico and Nicaragua who make up the Mesoamerican Initiative of Women Human Rights Defenders (IM-Defensoras) express our repudiation and most emphatic condemnation of the extrajudicial execution of Marielle Franco –feminist, defender of LGBTI rights and the rights of Afrodescendant peoples in Brazil– and of the murder of her chauffer, Anderson Gomes.
