Between fresh water and the tides. Ten years building and learning about care and healing among women human rights defenders and their collectivities.

As part of the celebration of our 10+ years, IM-Defensoras began a process of systematizing our work in relation to Feminist Holistic Protection (FHP).

“Between Fresh Water and the Tides: Ten years of construction and learning about care and healing among women human rights defenders and their collectivities” is the first of several publications and activities that we will conduct to share the learnings we have gathered and the challenges that we have faced over a little more than a decade, with the intention of thinking about what has been done in order to collectively build what is to come.

This publication condenses our trajectory on self-care, collective care, and healing, a pillar and strategy within our proposal for FHP. It traces our origins; our way of integrating this topic into the personal, collective, and organizational dynamics of the women human rights defenders with whom we work; and the commitment we have made to creating spaces for rest and healing.
