NEWS / IM-DEFENSORAS and national groups tell UN Rapporteur on Human Rights Defenders about attacks and impunity faced by women defenders in Mesoamerica

When UN Rapporteur on the Situation of Human Rights Defenders, Michel Forst, visited Honduras in August, representatives of IM-Defensoras and other national networks and groups had the chance to meet with him to discuss the situation in which we carry on our work as defenders in different countries. Our Co-Coordinator Alejandra Burgos presented him with an OPEN LETTER informing him of the attacks and impunity that women defenders deal with in the region. For the occasion, we of IM-Defensoras edited and provided him with 5 infographs, which contain data on attacks against women defenders in El SalvadorGuatemalaHondurasMéxico and Nicaragua and reflect the information presented in our  2012-2014 Assessment Report on Attacks against Women Human Rights Defenders in Mesoamerica.
